Multiagent based Simulation
I am working in collaboration with others in the department on simulation of evacuation from a sport-stadium. We model people in a stadium as intelligent, self-interested agents. We have devised an efficient way to accomplish human-level group behavior, without making the individual agents complex and bulky with AI. We distribute the intelligence in the environment, in line with the game industry's principles, producing a scalable simulation platform. We are applying this and other methodologies to the USM stadium, and a few others in Mississippi state.
