Computational Science Seminar Series Schedule

About the COS740 seminar series

All PhD students in Computational Science PhD program are required to take COS 740 seminar course (1 credit hour) for three semesters. Internal and external speakers are invited to give presentations at 2:00pm of each Friday. The range of talks is broad. Typically, talks are on computational science, computer science, computational mathematics and computational physics and other topics in related areas. School of Computing, Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics take turn to coordinate the seminar series. Dr. Joe Zhang in the School of Computing coordinates the seminar series in fall 2011.

Times, dates, locations & contacts

  • Time/Date: 2:00pm - 3:30pm, every Friday or special notification
  • Location: Vislab (Tec #205), Bobby Chain Technology Building

Interested in giving a seminar talk?

We invite faculty members from all universities and researchers from research centers to give seminar talks. We also encourage graduate students to give presentations, especially as practice talks for conferences and thesis work. If you would like to give a talk or recommend a speaker, please send an email to Dr. Joe Zhang to check the availability of your preferred date. To properly promote the seminar, we need the following information as far in advance as is possible. Information required includes the seminar talk title, a brief abstract and the speaker's short bio
